Well, this is the moment you’ve all been waiting for… Okay maybe not but it’s exciting for me. I finally get to reveal to you my latest project that I have been working on for many months now. Now, onto the project.
This project has been very fun to make. I’ve learned new things with PHP because this project is based on PHP (obviously). As some of you may know, I am absolutely horrible at coming up with names for my project. The new project is called “The Homepage Project”. Yup, I told you I was bad at making up names.
This project is your brand new homepage, well it can be anyways. This new project is your directory around the Web. You can search Wikipedia with a few clicks of a button because the search is already loaded right there for you. You can learn more about a different browser if you ever think of switching from IE to something more… um… better
.
Now here comes my favorite part. You can sign up for your own account and be able to customize your page and be able to submit new content to the project.
Now here comes the bad part. I can’t really say too much more at this point, you just have to go and see the page for yourself where it will give you some key features in this project. Also, in a month or two, I will be posting a demo video of the project so you can see it in action. I have also estimated a release date: (Note: This time period may change) I estimate that it will be out June 2010. Okay? Okay.
You still here? Well stop staring at this sentence and go check out the new project!
The New Project
February 26th, 2010Project Announcement Date
February 25th, 2010Just wanted to write a quick blog post telling you the I will be announcing the new project this Saturday February 27th, 2010! I am going to pre-write the blog post so I don’t have to do it on Saturday
. The blog will tell you some general stuff about the project, but the link to the actual page will tell you much more about it such as it’s key features.
So be sure to keep an eye on this blog and mark your calendars for Saturday February 27th, 2010!
Welcome Back
February 19th, 2010Well, I’m back from California, I was sad to have to go back considering the fact that it is currently 40 degrees fahrenheit here. Although, it is 61 degrees fahrenheit and cloudy in LA. I lucked out big time with the weather. Every single day was 70-80 degrees fahrenheit and sunny, except for yesterday — the day I went back home
. I won’t get into too much detail on what I did in LA. Although, some of the notable things were going to Universal Studios Hollywood, Disney’s California Adventure, and eating at Rock Sugar. I’m hoping to go back to LA during the summer for vacation with my family.
Now, the secret project. I’ve come a decision that I will be announcing the project next week in a blog post. That’s all I’m saying about the project, and more information will be revealed as time goes by. For now, I have just put some screenshots and basic info about the project. I have to finish that and a Demo video will be coming in either March or April. I will eventually tell you the release date of the project as time goes by also.
I’ve got so much to do right now. I have to announcement of the project, my History Day project, and the rest of school. I can’t wait for school to be over and to return to LA
.
Checking In
February 13th, 2010Hey everyone, I’m just checking in. I’m currently on vacation in California. So far, all I can say is that the weather sure beats the weather in Massachusetts
. Today it was 78 degrees fahrenheit. It was beautiful! I went past Sony Pictures Entertainment and saw the rest of Beverly Hills, as well as some of Culver City. I hope to be able to see Hollywood before I leave also.
So, yea, about that announcement of the project… I haven’t really given it any thought *starts inching away*. When I get back, I will have a date. For sure. Trust me. I’ve been slowly working on it, I have a History Day Project and I’m kinda away from my main computer right now. But, I do have my LaCie drive (Hooray!).
It’s so nice here that I can’t afford to miss a second of the beauty by working. So yea, that’s my one and only excuse, sorry I don’t have a good one
. I’ll try to post later next week, if I can
.
Weekly Update: Incoming, Cold, and Releases
February 6th, 2010Well, it is finally February which means that the new project is going to be announced in mere weeks. During these next few days, I will be looking at the calendar to estimate a date on when I will announce it (it will be in the form of a Blog Post). I am going to be in California for a week starting this Thursday so that means there will be no weekly update. I will post on either Wednesday or Thursday what my estimation of the announcement will be. I’ve taken some time away from the pre-release page to work on the release night page. So far, it looks pretty cool in my opinion. I probably won’t be working on it too much because I have to design a Website for my National History Day project (which is due next month and I’ve barely started
). It will probably be a simple design though, I’m not too worried about it.
If you Follow Me on Twitter, then you probably already know that I have a cold that refuses to leave me alone, which again is another reason why I don’t update too much. I’m mostly in bed drinking water and sleeping. Oh, last night was fun though, I went to Night on the Town at my school which is a semi-formal dance. It was awesome, I was named the class Prince and they took my picture with the class Princess, so that was exciting. And then when I returned home marked the beginning of “The Night of a Million Tissues”. It was not fun, my trash is currently full of water bottles, and used tissues. Yum. I hope I’m over this darn cold soon.
And as for releases, there are none coming up. That’s mainly because of my cold. Once I’m over it, I hope to resume working on my latest creation. Other than that, there isn’t too much to tell you. Again, I’ll be posting in the middle of this week, but there won’t be any Weekly Update. Well, I’ll see you mid-week!
Weekly Update: 2 Weeks, Announcement, and Reach
January 30th, 2010Well, I kinda disappeared for the past two weeks. The past two weeks were quite busy. But I’m back now! Last week, I didn’t have an update because there wasn’t really anything new to report. But, now there is. The first report involves the new project.
The Secret Project
I will be announcing the new project in Mid to Late February, so that is something to look forward to. I won’t really be announcing the key features, but as we go along I will be releasing new info on the project, and eventually a demo of it. The project is basically done and now I’m working on its display page. If you follow me on Twitter, then you will have read about how I’m working on live updating techniques. The only thing I can tell you as of now is that I will be using some sort of live updating during the release of the Project. The release of the project is going to be awesome, I’ve already started planning some really cool stuff to put in.
Reach
As you know, I’m a Mac user, but I also do own one Microsoft product: an Xbox 360. And if you read the title and own an Xbox, you can probably already tell what this is about. Did you get it? Yep, Halo: Reach, the latest and last Halo game developed by Bungie. I’m pretty excited for the release of the game. Bungie has been releasing constant updates such as Intel and screenshots. This was a major factor in my disappearance for two weeks
. The game has a whole new engine, and I must say that the graphics are beautiful. I am also planning to release a Halo: Reach wallpaper, let’s just see how it turns out before I put it onto MacThemes for critiquing.
Anyways, that’s all I have to report, and don’t worry, I’m not going to disappear for another two weeks… Or will I?
Quick Update
January 20th, 2010Just a quick update on the new project. The project is almost complete and I am now working on the display page for it. Hopefully, I can announce it in Late February or Early March (most likely in February), with a release in either April or May. The project just needs fine tuning, some more testing, and the CSS has to be tweaked with. Other than that, it is all set to go. When it is released, that doesn’t mean I won’t keep updating the project. There is a special section that makes it possible for me to keep updating and adding, which you’ll see once the project is released.
I might have a special display page up for the release of the project. When I announce the project, it will probably just be a blog post. But considering that this is my biggest project so far, I want to have something special for its release. I have to think of something clever I can do for its release. Other than that, there are no other updates. The Weekly Update will probably be relatively short, unless something else happens
.
Weekly Update: Crashes, Releases, and Updates
January 15th, 2010Sorry I’m a little late on this blog post. I’ve been having some difficulties with my Mac. I ran TechTool Pro 5 to defrag and clean up my hard drive (just for the heck of it). Apparently, it crashed mid-way and never remounted my Mac HD. Because it crashed, it also seemed to make my HD not bootable, but it could still read the files in it. Thank God for back-up drives! I had to wipe my HD and restore the files using SuperDuper. I might add that SuperDuper is a fantastic piece of software if you want to make your LaCie drive bootable. TechTool Pro 5 is still a great piece of software. Although I’m not sure how long it’ll be before I try to defrag again ![]()
In terms of releases, I only have one release. That release is a wallpaper, and it is coming tomorrow. It’ll be a free wallpaper, and it’s already been critiqued on the MacThemes forum. So, all I have to do is lock that thread, and put a new one in releases! Other than that, I don’t have any new releases coming up. Well, that is until I come up with a new idea.
Now for an update on the Secret Project. The project is going to be unveiled between Late February – Early March. It isn’t going to be a huge unveiling, just the name and a few details are going to be released. I’m hoping that I will give you updates about the project every week after the unveiling. Now that Mid-Terms are over, I’ve gotten a ton of work done on the project. It is the biggest project I’ve ever made. I’ll probably post later this week also. Be sure to keep an eye on the blog!
Weekly Update: Releases, CES, and Mid-Terms
January 8th, 2010See? I told you I’d try to do a weekly update! This week wasn’t a too exciting week in terms of stuff in production and being released. Although, I am announcing a release that should be coming soon. I’m announcing a wallpaper free for everyone to download. So keep your eyes on this blog for an announcement on when it’s going to be released. Other than that, there is not much else to report.
I’ve been working on the Secret Project, and all I can say right now is that I’ve been working on a new and improved Login system for the project than what I had before. With the release of the Secret Project, a wallpaper will also be released along with it as the wallpaper is used in the Project. I’ve also been doing some work for a friend that I’ll have to post on my Portfolio page soon. Maybe I’ll do that this weekend, I’m not sure.
On another subject, I’ve been following the CES 2010 and I’ve am pretty impressed with some of the things I’ve seen. Like almost every other Apple Fan, I am also patiently awaiting the rumored Apple Tablet, I wonder a lot of it’s really going to happen or not, but we’ll just have to wait and see! Alright, now I have to go and study for mid-terms. Man, I can’t wait for them to be over.
Sorterize Released
January 2nd, 2010Well, when I said Early 2010, I wasn’t kidding! Sorterize has been released (finally). It’s been sitting in a folder just collecting dust, so I had to release today! That is one thing checked off of the list from last post. Though, this is an exciting release, the most exciting release will be the release of the “Secret” project coming later in 2010. I will be giving you more info about the Secret project in a month or two. Who knows? I might just announce it and let you download it the same day. Other than that, there is not much else to say. I’m still hard at work creating new things to release on this site. Hmm, I think I’ll go work on the Secret Project now
.
